The Radiophile Auction Service
The Radiophile organises several vintage radio auctions every year. These offer a valuable service to all involved with vintage radio.
We are keen to hear from all sorts of sellers, whether they are collectors looking to thin down their collection, or those who may be responsible for re-homing a collection of wireless items following a bereavement.
Radiophile Auctions are generally held at Gnosall. Details of forthcoming auctions can be obtained from Brian Pallister (email@example.com) - or use the 'Contact Us' form on the website. Dealers may also book stalls in the same way. More details on how to add your items to forthcoming auctions as well as terms and conditions are now available to DOWNLOAD here. Brian can also be contacted by telephone - but please email in the first instance.
Radiophile Auctions are run by a trusty band of volunteers, so it is not generally possible to get involved with storing lots before the auction or transporting them to the venue. On the other hand, if you can enlist the help of a man with a van and get the lots to the venue the day before the sale, a Radiophile Auction gives you a pain-free and practical way to re-home even large quantities of vintage wireless equipment.
General coditions of sale will be announced by the auctioneer immediately prior to the sale but we would like to draw your attention to the following:
The minimum bid on any lot remains at £1, but the minimum price acceptable for any radio set is £5 to reflect the value of its valves and components, even if its cabinet is in poor condition.
The minimum commission on any lot is £2.
Our policy of not charging a buyer's premium remains unchanged, despite its general adoption elsewhere. Please note that this is only made possible by the much appreciated voluntary assistance.
All goods shall be paid for at the time of the sale.
Our preferred method of payment is Debit Card, however cash is also acceptable. Credit cards may be accepted (T&CA) and cheques may be accepted from Radiophile subscribers and other established purchasers, but in the case of new purchasers we reserve the right to retain the goods until cheques have been cleared.
N.B. All lots are sold as collectors' items only. Vendors own descriptions are used and The Radiophile cannot accept responsibility for any omissions or errors that may occur.
